Decommissioning of CFB Chilliwack (Archived)

Description: The Department of National Defence has submitted a proposal to initiate the decommissioning of Canadian Forces Base Chilliwack, in the southwestern part of the province and the satellite Detachment of Jericho in Vancouver.

Decision of the Minister of the Environment: On February 3, 1998, following a review of public comments and the environmental assessment report, the Minister concluded that the project is unlikely to cause significant adverse environmental effects and referred the project back to the responsible authority for appropriate next steps.
