Reasons for a Federal Assessment

On October 12, 2010, it was determined that an environmental assessment was required in relation to the project because Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions was the proponent for the project.

Project Description (as posted in the Notice of Commencement)

The purpose of the project is to build an extension to a hotel by adding eight rooms with private bathrooms. In addition, a second floor shell will be added for future expansion plans. The scope of the project covers the construction of the building extension, the exploitation of the hotel as well as all non-dissociable elements of these activities.

Final Decision

A decision was taken on November 26, 2010 and was that the authority may exercise any power or perform any duty or function with respect to the project because, after taking into consideration the screening report and taking into account the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures, the authority is of the opinion that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
