Project Description (as posted in the Notice of Commencement)

Phase II of the marine infrastructure project at Ivujivik consists of: dredging operations, the expansion of the existing boat launch ramp, the expansion of the service area, the construction of a new marine service ramp, a primary breakwater and a secondary breakwater. The project scope includes those components of Phase II of the marine infrastructure construction that could affect fish habitat, including dredging operations, the expansion of the existing boat launch ramp, the expansion of the service area, the construction of a new launch ramp, a primary breakwater and a secondary breakwater.

Final Decision

A decision was taken on May 28, 2009 and was that the authority may exercise any power or perform any duty or function with respect to the project because, after taking into consideration the screening report and taking into account the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures, the authority is of the opinion that the project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
