The project involves the construction of a new air traffic control tower at YYJ.

Construction activities will generally occur during normal business hours; however, some night work may be required.  Types of activity include survey, civil work, welding, piping, mechanical, electrical, crane work, and general materials handling. 

The lands are currently airside, however the lands will be transitioned to landside with the addition of new security fencing before the project begins. The project is fully contained on an existing lease and construction activities are not expected to affect airport operations.  Adjacent public roads may be affected when moving construction materials to the site but will be managed by road traffic flaggers.
