Wild Duck Inn-Pub Inc. - Site cleanup

The proposed project 

The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority proposes to complete a site cleanup at the water lot fronting Holland Avenue, Port Coquitlam and located adjacent to the Pitt River Bridge. The site cleanup will consist of: 

  • Installation of a silt curtain around the project area to contain floating debris throughout the length of the Project 
  • Removal and disposal of two (2) small vessels, wooden walkways, approximately thirty-two (32) broken sections of floating dock, and miscellaneous debris with a clamshell bucket and crane on a spud barge 
  • The wooden access walkway and debris on the foreshore will be removed by hand at low tide 
  • Removal of approximately fifteen (15) treated timber piles 
  • Demolition and removal of one (1) float house and one (1) semi-submerged scow 
  • Removal of floating debris 
  • Disposal of debris by flat scow or similar to appropriate upland disposal sites 

The Project would be completed using a marine spud-derrick and scow. All materials will be removed from the site via barge, transferred to trucks, and taken to an approved facility for disposal. All equipment will have spill containment kits. The works are anticipated to be completed within 10 days, during standard construction hours. All works will be completed during the window of least risk for the Fraser River.

Port Coquitlam, B.C. –September 30, 2022– The Vancouver Fraser Port Authority has determined that the proposed Wild Duck Inn-Pub Inc. - Site Cleanup located at the water lot fronting Holland Avenue, Port Coquitlam, adjacent to the Pitt River Bridge is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.
