Public Notice Increase of the drinking water reserve – Manawan - Public Comments Invited

August 16, 2022 Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Increased of the drinking water reserve, located in Manawan is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting that determination. All comments received will be considered public and may be posted online.

The Proposed Project

The project includes the connection of a 2nd water supply well to the existing pump house. It also includes the expansion of the existing drinking water reservoir by the addition of a +/- 250 m3 cell, the replacement of the diesel generator for the fire pump with an electric generator and the upgrade of the disinfection treatment. Excavation, piping and backfill repair activities will therefore take place within 30 meters of Metabeskéga Lake.
