Bedford Institute of Oceanography (BIO) Jetty Wharf Replacement

Existing timber crib jetty wharf and ‘L' , along with floating docks, will be removed and replaced.  The proposed new jetty and ‘L' will be larger then the existing and will be of concrete caisson construction.  New floats will also be installed.  Dredging will be required to remove existing structures, obtain required depth, and for placement of new structures.  The proposed project will no longer involve the construction of a rock berm infill area adjacent to the shore to contain dredge material and be used as a new service area.  The dredge material will now be disposed of at a provincially approved land-based disposal facility. No infilling will be included in this project.
