Town of Banff Water Withdrawal, Distribution and Treatment System

The Town of Banff withdraws approximately 3 million cubic meters annually of groundwater from 3 wells for use, treatment, and for waste water disposal. Consumers of the system include residences, businesses and facilities within the Town of Banff legal land boundary, and several facilities outside of the Town Boundaries (e.g. Rimrock Hotel, Tunnel Mountain Campground, etc.) A project assessment is being undertaken to submit to Parks Canada for issuance of a permit to continue to withdraw water, and maintain infrastructure to support the distribution and treatment systems.
