Development of the green belt on Pierre-Dupuy Avenue by the Port of Montreal

As a member of the Greening Leaders Committee of Montreal, the MPA is committed to continuing its efforts to green its properties. To this end, the MPA pledged to plant 2,000 trees between 2018 and 2022. This commitment is part of both the MPA's Sustainable Development Action Plan and the City of Montreal's Canopy Action Plan.

In this context, the strip of land bordering Pierre-Dupuy Avenue and berths M2 to M6 of the Port of Montreal was selected as a site of interest. This belt of land also borders La Route Verte bicycle path for nearly one (1) km. The MPA intends to landscape this strip of land that has been left uncultivated.

The project works include constructing a 500-metre long pedestrian walkway, two small paved squares, an observation point, a new guardrail along the edge of a concrete retaining wall and the planting of approximately 85 trees.
