Joussard Harbour Alberta - Routine Maintenance Dredging of the Joussard Harbour at Lesser Slave Lake Alberta - over the next year

The project will be carried out at the Joussard Harbour, located in the NW ¼ of Sec. 8, Twp. 74, Range 13, W5 in the southern area of Lesser Slave Lake. The harbour is an active recreational facility under the administration of the Joussard Harbour Authority who lease the federally titled land from Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) Small Craft Harbours Branch (SCH).

The main component of this work is to dredge the harbour basin. To ensure the basin is deep enough for safe passage or vessels to and from the harbour floats and ramp. The dredge area will be to a grade depth of EL 574.0 metres. Dredging will be done from shore using a long stick hoe and spoils excavated will be deposited in an area approved by the County of Big Lakes and in accordance with local governing authorities, above the high water mark. A silt curtain will be used to prevent silt materials from escaping into the lake.
