Easement Request at L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site

L'Anse aux Meadows was declared a national historic site in 1975 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1978. A request was received from a local resident to create an easement from highway Route 436 to access their land which occurs outside the boundaries of the site. A lease agreement will grant the resident permission to place rock/ gravel fill across approximately 50 meters of land from the existing highway to the site's boundary. Due to the saturated nature of the landscape a culvert will be required to maintain existing drainage patterns.
