Porpoise Bay Harbour Boat Grid Removal

Small Craft Harbours (SCH) is undertaking a project to remove the remains of a boat grid adjacent to the wharf at Porpoise Bay Small Craft Harbour located in Sechelt Inlet, Sechelt B.C.

The proposed project involves the removal and disposal of approximately 300m3 of existing sediment and miscellaneous timber from a 10m x 20m area beside the wharf and replacement with new sediment of like composition to the surrounding area.  Upon completion, the project will result in no net change to basin depths.  Recovered material will be disposed of at an approved upland location.  Environmental monitoring by a Qualified Environmental Professional and a silt curtain will be employed during all in water work which will occur during windows of least risk to fish as defined by Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
