Lac Des Mille Lac First Nation Residential Sub Division
Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation is planning to build a new residential housing sub-division located on the 22A1 Reserve lands which are located on the Lac des Mille Lacs. The lands on which the subdivision is located is described in the approved Canada Lands Survey Records Plans # 122. Reserve 22A1 covers 3750.70 acres (1517.85 hectares) and is located 135 km west of Thunder Bay, off the Trans-Canada highway, with road and boat access.
The subdivision is depicted on Canada Lands Survey Records 106782. The lots range from light to heavily treed, with some lots having trees suitable for building material.
All lots will be serviced by a new Ontario Hydro underground power line which includes the installation of transformers and kiosks including inserts, elbows, insulating caps, arrestors, and switching/isolation of existing Hydro One facilities. Civil works required includes trench excavations, sand padding with masonry sand; the installation of pre-cast concrete vaults and backfill; grounding rods, crushed stone base for transformers and kiosks and duct banks (direct Buried and or concrete encased). Sub-cable work includes the installation of poured concrete pads, pre-cast concrete vaults and or aluminum vaults; grounding (rods or plates) and masonry sand padding and crushed stone.
Each lot will include drilled wells, driveways and septic fields.
