SaskPower Pole Replacement in Prince Albert National Park - east of Sandy Lake

SaskPower is proposing to salvage a two-pole structure that is severely decayed and replace it with a new single-pole double deadend structure. Once replaced, guy-wires and screw-style anchors will be installed to support the poles. To access the project location, SaskPower requires that the vegetation and regenerating trees/shrubs along the existing easement be cleared. The vegetation clearing will take place along the existing overhead power easement for a distance of approximately 950 metres (m) extending generally north of the structure replacement location to where the overhead powerline intersects Highway 263. Equipment that is expected to be used for completion of the Project includes: a tracked digger truck, back-hoe, trenching equipment, and crew trucks. Access to components of the Project will make use of existing roads, trails, and the power easement. Vegetation clearing is expected to be completed with a tracked drum mulcher and/or hydroaxe mower.
