Bingay Main Coal Project

Centermount Coal Limited is proposing the construction, operation, and decommissioning of an open pit coal mine located approximately 21 kilometres north of Elkford, in southeastern British Columbia. As proposed, the project would produce 1 million tonnes of coal per year over a mine life of approximately 13 years.

August 5, 2014 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency issued the Final Environmental Impact Statement Guidelines to the proponent on March 19, 2013 for the preparation of an environmental impact statement.
