BURNCO Aggregate Mine Project

Projects that were undergoing a comprehensive study at the time the provisions of the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 came into force will continue to follow the requirements of the former Act. Under the former Act, the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is responsible for conducting the comprehensive study of this project.

BURNCO Rock Products Ltd. is proposing the construction and operation of a new sand and gravel mine located on the northwest shore of Howe Sound, approximately 22 kilometres southwest of Squamish, British Columbia. The mine's production capacity would be up to 1.6 million tonnes of sand and gravel per year, over an expected mine life of about 16 years.

Note that this project was formerly known as the McNab Valley Aggregate Project.
