Project

In support of ongoing operations at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited's (AECL) Chalk River Laboratories, which are operated and managed by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL), the construction of an office trailer complex is being proposed.  The project will involve the installation of a modular two-storey office complex, a septic system, a water supply well and a parking lot.  The location proposed for the complex is on previously disturbed land, with an estimated footprint of <4000 m2. Minimal tree clearing may be required to facilitate drill rig access during the water well installation and will be conducted outside of the migratory birds breeding season in the area.  Other utilities will include tie-in to existing electrical and natural gas supply in the area. The proposed construction work is scheduled to occur in 2022.  All activities will be conducted in accordance with the environmental policy that directs the management and operation of CNL and all applicable legislation.
