Notice of Determination

October 27, 2020 – Infrastructure Canada and Indigenous Services Canada have determined that the proposed Yale First Nation Recreation Centre Project (the Project) is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

This determination was based on a consideration of the following factors:

  • impacts on rights of Indigenous peoples;
  • Indigenous knowledge;
  • community knowledge;
  • comments received from the public; and
  • technically and economically feasible mitigation measures.

Mitigation and monitoring measures taken into account for this determination included active and adaptive management measures that would be implemented for the protection of the local environment. Based on the consideration of these measures, Infrastructure Canada and Indigenous Services Canada are satisfied that that the carrying out of the Project is not likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects.

Therefore, Infrastructure Canada may provide financial assistance and Indigenous Serices Canada may provide authorizations to enable the Project to be carried out in whole or in part.
