Notice of intent to make a determination

Buffalo River Dene Nation Subdivision Stage 4 - Public Comments Invited

September 30, 2020 - Indigenous Services Canada must determine whether the proposed Buffalo River Dene Nation Subdivision Stage 4, located on Buffalo River Dene Nation IR 193 is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects. To help inform this determination, Indigenous Services Canada is inviting comments from the public respecting the determination.

The Proposed Project

This project includes the Planning, Design, Tender and constructionof a Proposed Stage 4 subdivision located south of the existing Stage 3 subdivision. The project construction phase includes,  clearing and grubbing this fiscal year (Oct 2020 to March 2021) to mitigate against nesting habitat of wild life. Construction is planned to commence early spring which includes constructing roadways, contouring for adequate drainage, installing water & sewer lines, service connections, streetlighting, power, and Grading and filling of approximately 50 residential lots.
