The Proposed Project

The project consists of the installation of five pumping wells to pump groundwater, perform groundwater treatment, and discharge treated water into injection wells and the Belle-Rivière River within the airport boundaries. The treatment applied will be through a series of activated carbon filters, an effective treatment for the treatment of organic compounds, particularly those targeted in this project. Filters will be present upstream of the activated carbon to remove suspended solids. In addition to the installation of the treatment unit, excavation and compaction of land in order to install a building that can accommodate the treatment unit as well as an underground reservoir for groundwater storage are planned. All measures will be put in place to ensure that the project's activities do not have a negative impact on groundwater quality since its objective is to improve this quality.
