Star-Orion South Diamond Project – Federal Funding Allocated to Support Aboriginal Participation in Environmental Assessment

November 27, 2013 - The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency has allocated a total of $5,650 to the Wahpeton Dakota Nation to support its participation in the environmental assessment of the proposed Star-Orion South Diamond Project, located in Saskatchewan.

This funding was made available to Aboriginal groups through the Participant Funding Program administered by the Agency, and will enable the applicant to review and provide comments on the Comprehensive Study Report.

The Proposed Project

Shore Gold Inc. is proposing to construct, operate, maintain and eventually decommission an open-pit diamond mine, processing facilities and associated infrastructure in the Fort à la Corne Provincial Forest located approximately 60 kilometres east of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.
